The JROTC Leadership & Academic Bowl (JLAB) Team revolves around JROTC cadets testing their leadership, teamwork, and academic skills. Teams can be divided into two divisions, academics and leadership. Teams will start with online exams and the best advance to the championship in Washington, D.C It’s one of the most prestigious JROTC events, highlighting both intelligence and leadership.
Our JLAB team can compete at a local level against other teams from different schools where they test their knowledge of academics or JROTC content in a form of a team assessment.

At practice, they review, study, and test their JROTC knowledge either as a team or individually. They practice communication and build their test chemistry and trust among each other.
In the Summer of 2025, our JLAB team competed in the leadership division and won 14th place out of 40 at the nation level in Washington, DC. They were faced with 5 different events, Leadership Gauntlet, Leadership According to the Greats, Leadership Outside the Box, Leader Knowledge Assessment, and Leader Reaction Course. The Leadership Gauntlet consisted of 8 revolving stations, testing the cadets' knowledge of JROTC. Leadership According to the Greats is a team test where cadets' will have to answer questions about the Three Greats of Leadership. Leadership Outside the Box is a team test where cadets will answer questions about scenario-based challenges and on JROTC knowledge. Leader Knowledge Assessment is an individual test where cadets will have to answer questions based off the JROTC LET textbooks. Leader Reaction Course consists of 4 events where each member will be a team leader for one and help guide the other 3 members throughout the course. These courses contain drone, robotics, and team coordination activities,
