As the Battalion Personnel Officer (S-1) I handle the people that make up the Battalion. I input awards, rank-ups, and activities/community service hours that everyone earns/achieves. I record everything in a database called JUMS so if you decide to join theArmy at a later date, all of your achievements will be on record. Please don't feel pressured to join the Army, JROTC is here for you to gain leadership skills. I am in charge of planning award ceremonies. If your instructor tells you that you've earned something, talk to your platoon leaders. The platoon leaders and platoon sergeants communicate with me with awards you have earned so I can prepare your awards and ranks for the next award or rank-up ceremony.
